Pure App vs No Strings Dating: Casual on Your Terms
What the Pure app does, how its expiring chats work and where a casual-first site fits you better.
The Pure app suits people who like chats that expire after 24 hours, and No Strings Dating suits adults who would rather put casual first. Pure adds vanishing photos and a Safety Signal for a trusted contact; we add interest tags like Ready Now and an optional ID check at no charge. Both ask you to pay to chat.
No Strings Dating
Interest tags and daily suggestions, in any browser.
Pure
Write an ad, match, then talk before the 24-hour timer ends.
What happens when the chat disappears?
Picture a Friday night. You match on Pure, trade a few messages and agree to meet on Sunday.
By default, that chat expires after 24 hours with everything shared in it, unless both of you switch the timer off. Photos and videos can vanish after viewing, and a screenshot triggers an alert, though Pure says itself that a second device can still photograph a screen.
For some people that is the whole appeal. For others it means writing down the time and place before Saturday ends.
Where Pure is the better fit
Ads before profiles
You post a personal ad about what you want before seeing anyone else's, and the feed follows your filters and location.
Safety Signal
Pure's terms describe a passcode-protected, time-limited link to your map location for a trusted contact.
A quick badge
The optional Photo Verification badge is a short liveness photo check, under 30 seconds, with no ID needed.
UK age checks
Global Dating Insights reported that Pure began age checks for UK users on 14 October 2025: a face scan, then ID and a selfie if needed.

The Pure app, answered
What is the Pure app?
Pure is a dating app, on the App Store since 2013, that describes itself as open, honest dating for curious people. You write a personal ad about what you want, browse others' ads, and like and match to open a chat. Downloading costs nothing, but a subscription is needed to chat.
Do Pure chats really disappear?
By default, yes: a chat expires after 24 hours with everything shared in it, unless both people switch the timer off. We found nothing on how long chats stay on Pure's servers, so check its privacy policy if that matters to you.
Does Pure work for hookups?
Pure's own pages do not say either way. Its store text never uses the word hookup, members write ads about the experience they want, and its guidelines ban buying or selling sexual services. If casual is what you want, No Strings Dating's interest tags, such as Short-term Fun, say so for you.
Are Pure app reviews worth reading?
Yes, as one person's experience on one day. Read recent ones and look for comments on billing, cancelling and whether the chat was what the reviewer wanted. We do not quote scores because they change, so check the store listing for current ones.
