Is No Strings Dating Legit? What You Should Know First
What the site publishes, what its own terms admit and how to protect yourself, in plain words.
Yes, it is a working adult dating site with published terms, a cancellation process and safety tools. It is also an entertainment service: the terms say it runs no background checks, that profiles and messages may not be genuine, and that staff can run test profiles. Judge people by how they behave.
What legit can and cannot mean for a dating site
A site is legit if it exists, charges what it says it charges, lets you cancel, looks after your data and answers complaints. No Strings Dating can be judged on every one of those, and the sections below show where each is written down.
What no dating site can honestly promise is that every profile belongs to the person in the photo, or that every member means what they say. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something, and this guide would rather give you the real position than a flattering one.
What the site publishes
- Terms and privacy policy. Both open from the links at the foot of every page, and you accept them when you join. They are long, so read the parts on billing and on profiles.
- An age rule. The minimum age is 18, rising to 21 in the handful of US states the terms list. The safety standards add a zero-tolerance policy on child sexual abuse and exploitation, with removal and reporting to the authorities.
- Prices in advance. Every plan, in pounds and dollars, with a note on whether it renews, is on the pricing page.
- A way out. The terms explain how to cancel through Support or the chat bot, and how to remove your profile from the Membership page.
- A way to complain. The Contact us form on the members site has a category for complaints, one for reporting a member and one for someone using your images without consent.
- Safety tools. Blocking, reporting, ratings, optional ID and video checks and more, all explained on the safety page.
What the terms say about profiles
This is the part most reviews skip, so here it is without softening. The member terms contain four plain statements about the service.
- It is entertainment
- The terms call it an entertainment service and tell members to use it at their own risk.
- No background checks
- The company does not run criminal background checks, and does not screen or try to verify what users say about themselves.
- Profiles may not be genuine
- By using the service you accept that profiles, messages and communication may not be genuine.
- Staff profiles
- The company can create profiles run by its own employees, to test the service and research its products.
None of that makes the site a scam. It does mean you should treat a profile as an introduction, not a certificate. Optional ID and video checks exist, an ID badge shows only that a member chose to be checked, and nothing replaces your own judgement.
Members' own reviews on the platform are short and mixed. Eight have been left as of 25 October 2026: seven are positive, and one 1-star review says there is little you can do without paying, which the pricing page explains.
Money: what you pay and how to stop
- Messaging is the paid part. You can make a profile and look around on Classic, and messaging freely needs a paid plan, as the terms say.
- Some plans renew. A week, a month, three months and six months continue at your joining rate until you cancel. The 12-month plans are one payment.
- Cancelling is a message away. Ask Support or the chat bot for the link. What you paid for lasts to the end of the period.
- Refunds are the exception. The terms call purchases generally final, apart from rights the law gives you, and a refund carries an administration charge.
Do this first: diarise your renewal date the day you subscribe. It is the single easiest way to avoid a payment you did not mean to make.
How to protect yourself on any dating site
Do
- Ask for a short video call before you meet.
- Keep chatting on the site until you are sure who you are talking to.
- Pick a public place, tell a friend and plan your own way home.
- Block and report anyone who pressures you.
Skip
- Sending money, gift cards or crypto to anyone you have not met.
- Sharing your address or workplace early.
- Moving to another app because someone insists.
- Trusting a profile because it looks perfect.
The safety page goes through the site's tools and the steps before a first meeting, and our safer sex guide covers protection and testing.
Legit questions, answered
Is No Strings Dating a scam?
It is a working adult dating site with published terms, listed prices and a cancellation process, so it is not a scam in the sense of taking money and delivering nothing. The terms are blunt that profiles may not be genuine, so read them and use the safety habits above.
Are the profiles real?
Some are, and the site makes no promise that all are. The terms say profiles and messages may not be genuine and that staff can run profiles for testing. Optional ID and video checks help you spot members who chose to verify, and a video call before meeting settles the question quickly.
Can I get my money back?
The terms say purchases are generally final, except where the law gives you a right to a refund, and some places get wording of their own: UK, EU, EEA and Swiss subscribers have no 14-day cooling-off period under the terms, while subscribers in the US states they name can cancel up to the third business day after subscribing. Contact Support quickly if you think you were charged in error, and always cancel before the renewal date.
How do I report a fake or abusive profile?
Use the report button on the profile, block the member so they cannot contact you, and send details through the Contact us form on the members site if you want a person to look at it. Include screenshots and dates, and never send money to a member who asks.
Look around before you decide
